How to kick-start an upward spiral

Here are some of my top tips on how to accelerate yourself into the highest, happiest, most productive version of yourself. When we are burnt out, overwhelmed and depleted, our natural tendency is to make our lives smaller. We pull out of social events, swap our grocery shop for uber eats, lean towards numbing our minds rather than enriching them. It’s human nature and something I do more so than not!

However, these forms of ‘rest’ are actually doing the opposite. There are ways we can energise ourselves from inside out, that are beneficial, expansive and far better for us. Here is a list of some of the way I know help kick-start an upward spiral.

  1. Get inspired. One of the fastest ways to pull yourself out of a rut is through motivation. Find a podcast you love on a topic that may relate to whatever you’re going through. Pop it on and fold your washing.

  2. Start saying thank you for what you already have. When we’re feeling down, it’s easy to forget just how lucky we are. The more we can pull ourselves into gratitude, the more readily available joy is. Raise your vibration and list out 10 things you’re grateful for.

  3. Plan a wellness day. Book in for Accupuncture, or a new movement class you’ve never been to, maybe drive yourself out to a mountain an hour away from where you live and pop your phone on do not disturb. Get out of your everyday.

  4. Use your tribe. Whether that’s your community, someone you look up to online or a family member, let them know you’re embarking on this new journey. They’ll help keep you accountable and also be there for you when you need someone to vent to. The whole point of our human experience in connection - never forget that!

  5. Contrast therapy. A new wave of wellness that involves sauna and ice bath’s. While contrast therapy can be a little on the pricey side, maybe swap your night out and Saturday uber eats for a sauna on a Sunday evening. Go for a swim in the closest body of water. Turn your shower on as cold as you can and do it every morning for a week.

  6. Meditate. Daily. We all know it’s the best for our minds. Bring it back into your routine.

Remember I am always here for you, whatever your struggle.

With love,

Jess
